The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists ( IADVL) is now a cherished body .It was established on 28th Jan 1973.

Constitution History : In the late 1940's , Bombay Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists was formed, having two chapters i.e. Madras and Calcutta. In 1947, the Ist Congress of Indian Dermatologists met in Bombay ,presided by Dr. R. V. Rajan. The 2nd All India Conference was held in 1951 at Calcutta which was presided over by Dr. A. C. Rebello. A resolution was passed at this Conference to merge all the three Chapters i.e. Bombay, Calcutta and Madras and thus was formed the Indian Association f Dermatologists and Venereologists (IADV) with Dr. A.C.Rebello as the First President.
On 28 the January ,1973 a joint meeting of Indian Association f Dermatologists Venereologists and the Dermatologic Society of India met at Udaipur , Where unanimous decision was taken to merge the two bodies to form Indian Association f Dermatologists , Venereologists and Leprologists ( IADV &L) . A new constitution was drafted and the office was established at New Delhi . Dr. B.N. Baneerjee( late)was elected the First President of IADV & L while Dr. L.K. Bhutani was chosen as the First Honorary General Secretary.
IADV & L was registered at Lucknow on 8th May , 1975 under the Societies registration Act (21 of 1860) vide registration no. 270-1975-76 , No.760 / I-35960/ Lucknow, dated 19-5- 1975
